Java Developer in Sheffield, United Kingdom

Salary: £25,000 - 50,000 per year Requirements:

• Strong Java development experience, with modern Java 11+
• Experience designing and building microservices architectural style applications
• Experience with graph databases; Neo4j experience is desirable
• Experience modernising legacy Java applications
• Experience with the design and build of REST APIs
• Experience building HTML/JavaScript front ends; Angular experience is desirable
• Strong technical and analytical troubleshooting skills
• Experience in BDD and/or TDD approaches and frameworks, including unit/integration test automation
• Experience resolving dependency issues, performing upgrades, and remediating vulnerable dependencies
• Experience working in Agile environments, including Jira and Confluence
• A proactive approach and the ability to take initiative without waiting to be told what to do next
• Good interpersonal skills
• Strong English skills, written and spoken

• Collaborate with developers, testers, and the wider organisation to build and run products
• Design, develop, and implement back-end features based on backlog and priority, with a small element of front-end development
• Collaborate with the engineering team to design and launch new features
• Proactively work with customers to resolve issues and respond to feature requests
• Build APIs and microservices
• Work in an agile CI/CD environment to deliver rapid iterations at a sustained velocity
• Participate in peer reviews and support testing of other code through automated test scripting
