Salary: £135,000 - 135,000 per year Requirements:
We require strong Java experience, including hands-on Spring Boot development.
We require proven experience owning or delivering cloud migration projects.
We require strong AWS knowledge, as most of the role is AWS-focused.
We need experience migrating infrastructure, databases, applications, and frameworks to the cloud.
We need excellent communication skills and confidence working across teams and with stakeholders.
We need the ability to ramp up quickly in unfamiliar systems and learn new domain knowledge fast.
Experience re-platforming or modernising legacy systems would be beneficial.
Broader DevOps or CI/CD exposure would be a plus.
Previous use of AI-assisted coding tools would be beneficial.
Responsibilities:
We will have you develop and support Java and Spring Boot solutions.
We will expect you to own and deliver cloud migration work across a full product stack.
We will rely on you to migrate infrastructure, databases, applications, and frameworks to AWS cloud services.
We will have you work closely with engineers and stakeholders across teams.
We will expect you to quickly understand existing systems and domain knowledge.
We will have you use AI tools to support development and delivery where appropriate.
We will ask you to contribute within a small engineering team of 4 to 5 engineers.

We are offering an initial 3-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension to 6 to 9 months, starting ASAP, at a day rate of £540 inside IR35. The role is hybrid in Manchester, with 2 days per week in the office. You will join a small team of 4 to 5 engineers and take part in a two-stage interview process, beginning with a virtual technical interview followed by an in-person session focused on migration knowledge and a pairing exercise.
