A venture-backed investment firm is standing up a substantial GPU compute capability, having just confirmed a large-scale order of next-generation B300 GPUs. This is a rare opportunity to architect large-scale AI infrastructure from the ground up, owning cluster specification and costing for a major hardware deployment rather than inheriting someone else's design decisions.

Responsibilities:
Specify and design GPU cluster architecture for a large-scale B300 deployment, covering compute, networking, storage and interconnect
Produce detailed costing models for cluster builds, including hardware, data centre, power and ongoing operational expenditure
Evaluate and recommend data centre/colocation partners capable of supporting high-density GPU racks
Define networking topology (InfiniBand/Ethernet fabric) to optimise for distributed training and inference workloads
Liaise with hardware vendors, OEMs and data centre providers to validate specifications and negotiate technical terms
Produce technical documentation and board-level summaries translating complex infrastructure decisions into commercial terms
Advise on power, cooling, and rack density requirements specific to next-generation GPU deployments
Skills/Must have:
Experience: 7+ years in infrastructure/solutions architecture, with direct experience specifying GPU or HPC clusters at scale
Core Tech/Domain: Deep hands-on knowledge of GPU hardware (NVIDIA H100/H200/B200/B300 class systems), server/rack design, and data centre infrastructure
Methodology/Protocols: Strong grasp of InfiniBand/RDMA networking, NVLink/NVSwitch topologies, and cluster interconnect design for distributed compute workloads
Soft Skills: Confident operating at boardroom level, able to translate deep technical detail into commercial costing narratives; comfortable owning ambiguous, high-stakes decisions with minimal oversight
Nice to haves:
Experience with liquid cooling/high-density rack deployments
Prior work with hyperscalers, neo-clouds, or GPU-as-a-service providers
Familiarity with NVIDIA reference architectures (e.g. DGX SuperPOD)
Vendor relationships with NVIDIA, Dell, Supermicro, or major colocation providers
