About Stride

‘Normal’ health is no longer good enough. Normal is code for tired, stressed, barely functioning and slowly declining, and calling that a life. We think everyone has a right to better than that.

Stride is turning tracking your entire internal biology into a lifestyle, with a next generation preventative health membership. Every member builds a multi-omic health profile covering DNA, microbiome, blood biomarkers, epigenetics and oral health. That’s over 500 biomarkers, tested at least twice a year, so we can see direction of travel and not just a single point in time.

Then we turn it into what to actually do: what to eat, how to train, what to supplement, what to watch, with a coach, dietitian or physiologist alongside you.

Imagine an elite longevity concierge, at an everyday price, with no stuffy clinics to attend!

The Role

This is a zero-to-one build. Stride doesn’t have an app yet. Members currently log in through a web portal, and your job is to turn that into an installable app on iOS and Android, launched on both at the same time.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Build and ship Stride’s first app across iOS and Android, from architecture to App Store and Play Store approval

  • Decide where native is essential (login, HealthKit, push, store compliance) and where web views do the job faster

  • Integrate with our existing REST API and data model, and help shape the API as the app’s needs become clear

  • Build engagement into the product: notifications, check-ins and reasons to come back every week

The Biological Age Platform

  • Build the member-facing experience of a genuinely novel, multi-source biological age score

  • Turn huge volumes of biomarker and trend data into screens that inform without overwhelming

  • Work with our scientific team so the app stays rigorous while staying simple

Cross-functional Partnership

  • Partner closely with our Product Designer, from first sketch to shipped feature

  • Work with the CTO on technical and UX decisions, and with the founders on functionality

  • Back your decisions with data. Nobody here is precious, and the best evidence wins

Building with AI

  • Use AI natively across scaffolding, code review, testing and documentation

  • Bring the experience to know what you’re asking AI to build, and to spot when it gets it wrong

How We’ll Know It’s Working

  • Both apps live, approved and launched together

  • Members opening the app weekly, not just when results arrive

  • A codebase that’s simple, scalable and easy to adjust, with nothing more complex than it needs to be

  • Features built with commercial outcomes in mind, not just technical elegance

What You’ll Bring

  • A track record of shipping consumer-facing apps that real users relied on, going back several years

  • Experience taking an app from zero to live, ideally owning the build end to end

  • Practical experience getting apps through App Store and Play Store review

  • Experience presenting large amounts of data in a way that’s clear and engaging

  • Fluency with AI tooling, built on fundamentals you learned before it existed

  • Commercial awareness: you build for scale and adaptability, not for its own sake

  • Comfort in a small, very fast-moving team where things change quickly and you’ll help shape the process

Bonus points: A successful wellness, health or fitness app, native iOS or Android depth, cross-platform frameworks (Flutter, React Native), HealthKit or Health Connect integrations, data-heavy apps (fintech, trading, gaming), or being an early or first engineer at a startup.

Why Stride

  • Preventive health is where consumer health is heading, and your work helps people find out earlier, not too late

  • Own the app outright, and shape the architecture rather than inheriting someone else’s decisions

  • Work directly with an experienced CTO and a founder who took DNAfit through an eight-figure exit to Prenetics before a Nasdaq listing

  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension, annual learning budget and your own kit
