Salary: £40,000 - 70,000 per year Requirements:

• Significant professional experience with modern C++ (C++11 or later)
• Strong understanding of performance optimisation and low-level system design
• Proven track record of delivering features from concept through production
• Experience mentoring or supporting fellow engineers
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience developing and supporting applications in Linux environments
• Proactive, ownership-driven mindset
• Desirable: C++20, Python development, SQL and relational databases, real-time or low-latency systems, or experience in trading, financial markets, or exchange technology
• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is desirable

• Design, develop, and enhance low-latency C++ applications across five equities trading environments
• Deliver robust, scalable, production-ready solutions with a focus on quality and performance
• Contribute to order handling, matching engines, market data services, and other critical components
• Own work from initial design through implementation, testing, and deployment
• Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders
• Drive technical decisions and deliver complex initiatives
• Support and develop less experienced engineers, and act as a technical expert for key systems and services
• Contribute to technical discussions, architecture reviews, and engineering best practices
• Investigate and resolve complex production issues, help maintain the reliability and availability of trading systems, and participate in an on-call rota when required
• Interview and evaluate engineering candidates and help build our technology organisation
