About the :
This is a 12-week internship opportunity with Ox Grills, as part of the Made Smarter Internship Programme. In this , you will extract, review, and migrate legacy business data from Excel, Word, and WhatsApp into a centralized Microsoft 365 / SharePoint environment mapped by the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC).
The internship is based at Ox Grills and home, gaining practical insights into the workings of a manufacturing environment. As part of the programme, you will benefit from weekly supervision and support by a Made Smarter expert, ensuring you have guidance and resources throughout your internship.
Through this Internship you will have the chance to:
- Audit, extract, and review existing business data across legacy channels (Excel spreadsheets, Xero, Word files, and WhatsApp communications).
- Build a structured, secure Microsoft 365 / SharePoint data system based on mapping produced by the MTC.
- Cleanse, validate, and standardise data sets to ensure accuracy, completeness, and usability.
- Collaborate with IT and internal stakeholders to test, validate, and transition workflows to the new platform.
Duties and responsibilities
Main activities will include :
- Create a centralised, structured data system within Microsoft 365 to support Ox Grills in migrating legacy operational data from basic spreadsheets, documents, and messaging platforms into a secure digital environment.
- Extracting, auditing, and categorizing historical business and operational data held across informal legacy formats (Excel, Word, WhatsApp, paper records).
- Setting up, structuring, and organizing a new SharePoint document and data location adhering to MTC mapping guidelines.
- Performing system testing, validation checks, and data verification alongside business stakeholders.
- Documenting system structures, access protocols, and brief user guidelines to ensure sustainable adoption post-migration.
- Facilitate the training and adoption of the new Digital system to our users
Skills and experience
ESSENTIAL:
- Educated to degree level (or currently studying towards a degree) in Data Analytics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in digital tools related to the objective (e.g., Microsoft 365 suite, SharePoint, advanced Excel/data manipulation tools).
- Strong team player with a proactive, adaptable attitude, comfortable working closely with colleagues and contributing to a supportive team environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating sound judgment when interacting with others; highly communicative and able to integrate well within a team.
DESIRABLE:
- Prior experience with Microsoft SharePoint setup, Power Automate, or Microsoft Lists.
- Experience in data migration, data cleansing, or database structural mapping.
- Understanding of basic data security, permissions management, and GDPR principles within cloud storage environments.
