DevOps Engineers

Position Description
Secure Innovation is part of CGI’s Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit, focused on delivering contemporary and innovative technical solutions to some of the most complex challenges faced by government agencies. Our teams work closely with clients to help them understand, adopt, and exploit emerging technologies to maintain strategic and operational advantage.

Our systems are engineered for performance, security, reliability, and scalability, using modern cloud-native architectures, DevSecOps practices, and contemporary CI/CD tooling and techniques. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our growing team. The ability to think creatively, solve complex technical challenges, and operate effectively within secure environments is essential for success in this role.

This position offers the opportunity to work on leading-edge and bespoke technologies within a highly rewarding and mission-focused environment. We are strongly committed to the ongoing development of our people and provide excellent learning and development opportunities to ensure your skills remain aligned with the evolving technology landscape. We foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement where motivated self-starters thrive.

While we are ideally seeking candidates who meet all requirements, we are open to considering high-quality individuals who demonstrate strong capability across most of the criteria

Your future duties and responsibilities
- Design, build, implement, and support secure and scalable DevOps solutions across complex cloud and hybrid environments.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated build, test, deployment, and release processes.
- Lead and mentor DevOps engineers and provide technical guidance to junior team members.
Support containerised and orchestrated environments using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Collaborate with software engineering, infrastructure, security, and client teams to improve platform reliability, automation, and operational maturity.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation tooling, and configuration management solutions.
- Support secure cloud adoption and operational best practices across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve deployment, infrastructure, and platform-related issues across development and production environments.
- Create and maintain technical designs, operational documentation, standards, and implementation artefacts.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- Minimum of 7 years’ commercial experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or related engineering disciplines.
- Proven experience leading DevOps teams and mentoring junior engineers.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Experience designing, building, and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Git, Bamboo, GitLab CI/CD, or cloud-native equivalents.
- Strong hands-on experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience scripting and automating solutions using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar technologies.
- Experience producing technical designs, architecture documentation, and operational documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and work through complex technical challenges.
- Passion for learning emerging technologies and driving innovation.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Security Clearance
- Resource must be willing and able to work onsite at the client location five days per week.
- Candidate must already hold current HLC clearance (mandatory requirement).
- Previous experience working within secure, government, defence, or highly regulated environments will be highly regarded.
- Due to client security requirements, only candidates meeting the required clearance criteria will be considered.
