Lead DevOps in South West London, United Kingdom

I was cold, I was naked, were you there, were you there?

No of course you weren't, you were too busy working.

San Francisco start up they said, free breakfast, lunch, dinner with beers every night. #Awesome team. But, after the dust has settled, you realise these great benefits are a clever guise to keep you in the office almost 24/7 and stuck in the daily routine of work and zero life balance.

If you're fed up of working in huge open plan offices, with procrastination about doing things and just want to work for a great company, in a room of tech people, actually doing great things and getting stuff done this could be an interesting option. All this while still having the time to tuck in their children at night, head to the gym at lunchtime, or leave early for that Meetup you keep missing. A life alongside your work.

This doesn't mean no fun. This doesn't mean not enjoying your job, this means having true accountability and responsibility for delivery in the way you deem fit, and the satisfaction you're part of something great in an environment geared for success, without the additional fluff. We're looking for people who see past the fluff, and want substance over style.

From a technology perspective you'll understand the true nuances of Continuous Delivery/Integration, you'll understand the advantages of NoSQL over relational DBs, or A Records vs CNAMEs. You'll understand the real Developer workflow, code branching and artifact management. While at the same time having the ability to build infrastructure with Terraform, and use your Packer or Ansbile ability.

You'll have the opportunity to truly drive innovation in the UK and the opportunity to work with the latest Serverless technology, the latest trends around immutable infrastructure and the opportunity to drive forward technology around areas like IoT and Blockchain.

We're looking for a doer, rather than DevOps buzzword bingo CV. You'll have real world experience in what it genuinely takes to implement, and do 'the DevOps' moving forward.

We're excited about the prospects for this company and position. Please get in touch with me for a confidential conversation on what they may look like.
