Lead .NET Developer in Wokingham, United Kingdom

Salary: £44,000 - 84,000 per year Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of C# and .NET/.NET Core, with experience building software applications
  • Practical experience working in Linux environments, including navigating systems, troubleshooting issues, and supporting software
  • Hands-on experience using Docker and working with containerised applications
  • Understanding of MySQL, MariaDB, or similar data stores
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, work management, source control, branching strategies, and pull requests
  • Understanding of coding standards, design patterns, code reviews, and technical documentation
  • Experience working in a collaborative agile team, including stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve technical issues
  • Desirable: Python or C++ development experience
  • Desirable: Experience with message queues and messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ
  • Desirable: Experience designing components within larger, complex software systems
Responsibilities:
  • Design and build software applications and components using C# and .NET, taking ownership from design through delivery
  • Develop, support, and troubleshoot software in Linux environments using Docker and containerised applications
  • Investigate bugs, diagnose technical issues, and improve the reliability and performance of existing customer systems
  • Write clean, maintainable code that follows established coding standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices
  • Work with other engineers to design software components, evaluate technical approaches, and contribute to larger systems
  • Use Azure DevOps, source control, branching strategies, and pull requests to manage development and maintain code quality
  • Produce technical documentation, participate in agile ceremonies, review code, and communicate progress to stakeholders
