G olborne is a flourishing 11-16 secondary school that is proud to provide an exceptional education for the children of Golborne and Lowton. We are the lead school for Wigan Institute of Education and work together with our partners to deliver Initial Teacher Training, school to school support, exceptional CPD and early career framework structures. We deliver an exceptional in-house induction programme and bespoke CPD pathways for staff at all stages of their career.

We are looking to appoint an exceptional Teacher of Science to join our Teaching and Learning Team as a Lead Practitioner. You will support the Science Leadership Team in a modelling and coaching capacity to ensure that an already successful faculty reaches its goal of ‘outstanding’.

We would welcome applications from experienced teachers with a strong and proven track record of success in public examinations. We would also welcome applications from colleagues at a relatively early stage of their career who have exceptional subject knowledge, strong leadership potential and a clear understanding of how to enable all students to make outstanding progress in their learning and have a love of research.
