Trainee Property Maintenance Operative

West Lothian and Central Scotland

£26,000 to £27,000 + Performance Bonus + Overtime + Full Training + Career Progression

Looking for a job you'll actually enjoy?

If you're happiest sitting behind a desk all day, this isn't the role for you. But if you enjoy being outdoors, like practical work, take pride in doing things properly and want to be part of a team where people genuinely enjoy working together, you'll probably fit in really well.

Let's be honest.

Most jobs around this salary all sound pretty similar. They promise a "great team", "career progression" and "excellent opportunities", but once you start, it's just another place where you're expected to turn up, keep your head down and watch the clock until it's time to go home.

This opportunity is different.

Our client has built a business around looking after both its customers and its people. They're growing quickly, they've got ambitious plans for the future, and they're looking for someone who wants to become part of that journey.

If you're looking for somewhere you'll be treated with respect, trusted to get on with your job, enjoy working with the people around you and have the chance to build a long-term career, they would love to hear from you.

Why People Stay

Our client is not going to pretend this is the highest-paid job you'll ever see.

What they can honestly say is that it's the kind of place where people enjoy coming to work.

You'll be joining a friendly, down-to-earth team where everyone pulls their weight, helps each other out and enjoys a bit of banter along the way. Management genuinely cares about its people, listens when something isn't right and wants everyone to enjoy what they do.

One of the biggest differences is the way the working day is managed.

You're paid for the day's work, not for standing around until a certain time.

If the job is finished, it's been completed properly and the customer is happy, you head home. If that's earlier than expected, you still get paid for the full day.

The company believes that if people work hard, do a great job and look after the customer, they deserve that flexibility. It's built on trust, and it's one of the reasons the team enjoys working here.

What You'll Be Doing

No two days are exactly the same.

You'll work alongside experienced team members carrying out specialist exterior property maintenance across residential and commercial properties throughout Central Scotland.

Your work will include:

• Roof cleaning
• Driveway and patio cleaning
• Soft washing
• Gutter clearing
• Exterior building cleaning
• Commercial property maintenance

You'll be working outdoors, using professional equipment, learning specialist skills and seeing the difference you've made at the end of every job. It's practical, active work where you can take real pride in the results.

What you'll receive:

• £26,000 to £27,000 starting salary
• Performance bonus
• Overtime opportunities
• Full training, so experience isn't essential
• Genuine opportunities to progress as the company continues to grow
• Company pension
• Paid holidays
• High-quality uniform and PPE
• Modern vans and professional equipment
• Supportive management who genuinely care about your wellbeing
• A varied role where no two days are the same
• The chance to build a long-term career with a growing Scottish business

Is this the right job for you?

You don't need experience in exterior cleaning because our client will teach you everything you need to know. They're far more interested in finding someone who's reliable, willing to learn and takes pride in doing a proper day's work.

Essential requirements:

• Full UK Driving Licence
• Right to work in the UK
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
• Reliable with excellent timekeeping

If you're looking for somewhere you can learn new skills, enjoy your working day and become part of a business that's going places, our client would love to hear from you.

Apply today with your CV and a short introduction telling them a little about yourself and why this opportunity appeals to you.

As part of the recruitment process, shortlisted applicants will complete a short online assessment that takes around 10 minutes. It's designed to help both you and our client make sure the role is the right fit before progressing to a telephone interview and a paid trial day, giving you the opportunity to meet the team, experience the role and decide whether it's somewhere you can see yourself building your future.
